Safety always comes first
Team building is a process, not necessarily an event that takes place over time. When several events are packaged together in a meaningful way, teams can experience the cohesiveness needed to win in whatever arena they are in. At C4, we aim to help groups decide if our services are a good fit for their objectives, dynamics of their groupm and safety needs.
So what do you consider when thinking about choosing the right team building site for your group? Wherever a team decides to go, the outcome of the event must meet the objectives of the trip planner. If you are looking for high level trust activities, plan on an event that will allow an ample amount of time as this issue is not something solved in a short type of program. On the other hand, if fun is what you have in mind, the amount of time needed at a program may be limited. The bottom line is that you need to know your group and provide a trip that meets the needs that they present.
If your group has a tougher time reaching out on a personal level, choose activities that A) will draw them out and B) will not cause them to be TOO uncomfortable. Usually, when a team building program is chosen that causes a group to get just outside their comfort zone but not too far, you have found the right balance. Preparing your group before they go on a team buliding mission is important as well.
Most important, safety in any team buliding program is key. In Minnesota, there are several ropes course/zip line parks opening. C4 is proud to not only be an exceptionally safe facility, but boasts that in the 3 seasons since opening, and over 10,000 participants, we have had zero major injuries. This is attributed to a rigorous training of staff, attention to detail, and a high level of risk management experience. Make sure you choose a facility that will provide you with this comfort wherever you go. This way, your team building event will focus on your group’s objectives, not on an injury or other distraction. Happy ziplines!
